Fantastic Felted Flowers

This week we were lucky to have Sue Mitchell give us a wet felted flower workshop at The Purple Sock. This is the first time she has taught in Canada ( aren't we lucky to have had her at my shop!!)

Sue is a Canadian fibre artist who, upon retirement, began designing felted bags. She became involved with needle felting, wet and dry felting, Nuno felting, knitting and dyeing. She considers everything she makes and sells as "wearable art". In the summer you can find Sue and her wares at the Rosseau Farmer's Market, the Parry Sound Market as well as her Etsy shop, "KnitFeltDream".

In the winter, Sue lives in Nokomis, Florida where she has joined The Surface Design Group and the Sun Coast Knitting Guild. She teaches her felting art at "A Good Yarn" in Sarasota, Florida and "The Purple Sock, Coldwater, Ontario.

Please go to the following link to see more of Sue's amazing felted works, and check out some of her projects on her Ravelry page!

Here are just a few photos of the class and some of our felted flowers. We will be hosting this class again in the future, so keep your eyes open for the email as this class will fill very quickly!
here we are hard at work
