Oh! The JOY of silk!! Hello everyone!  I am so excited to showcase this Juniper Moon yarn...the ancient Irish name "Aine", means "brilliance and radiance" and that certainly applies to this 100% Mulberry silk. Made in Italy, this lace weight silk is simply fabulous, so very soft and silky, it simply flows through your fingers as you knit. With stunning colours and some lovely accompanying patterns, this is perfect for a light summer top or evening shawl...and as it is now FINALLY officially spring, that means summer cannot be far behind! What a great gift! Hello everyone! I have always loved owning a yarn shop, for many reasons...showcasing local and exotic yarns, meeting great people, providing classes so people can fall in love with knitting..all of the above! But one of the main reasons, is that I get to see the most amazing local creations! When this gentleman came into the shop with his shawl pins, I just fell in love with them!  And I knew that you would too...with woods from as far away as Africa and as local as Hanover, Ontario....these adorable pins are the perfect gift for the knitter in your life, or the perfect accompaniment to that stunning shawl you just knit for yourself.  I adore the little chickadee, and of course, the cardinal is striking, and the sweet sheep are just so darned cute! Irish eyes are smiling!! Hello everyone! Well, the Hedgehog yarns that I have been waiting for has finally winged its way across the Atlantic to my little shop, and oh, the colours!! The photos do not do the colours justice, but they remind me of the fields of heather in Ireland, the deep yellow of the gorse, and the darker, rich shades on the Cliffs of Mohr. Let's start with their "Twist Sock".. a lucious combination of 80% Blue Faced Leicester and 20% nylon, which will knit up into strong and gorgeous socks which are machine washable. Next is their Merino DK, a 100% springy twist Merino that has been hand dyed using washfast and lightfast dyes and is also machine washable. And lastly, is their ever- popular Sock Yarn, a 90% Super-wash wool combined with 10% nylon in some of the most gorgeous new colours that Hedgehog has ever created!
