Hi
Everyone,
Recently Rowan has come out with a new yarn.....a wonderful 100% wool superwash worsted weight, which I have in stock in 30 different colours. It is $10.99 for a 100gm ball and one ball will make 3 squares for the afghan! They are now offering a Mystery afghan knit along using this yarn. Below is a quote from Rowan with a little info about the afghan.“Rowan and Westminster Fibers are proud to announce the upcoming Pure Wool Worsted Mystery Afghan Knit-a-Long. Created originally for the North American market, this program will now be launched globally in early April, with the pattern for the first square uploaded to the Knit Rowan website during the week of April 21st.Designed by Martin Storey (shown below, with Rowan Senior Brand Manager, Kate Buller), the project is an afghan made up of 48 squares in eight different patterns, plus a cabled trim, all worked in Rowan's new Pure Wool Worsted Superwash. Each square will measure 8"x8" (20cm x20cm). The finished dimensions measure approximately 50" x 66" long (125cm x165 cm).”So, I have decided to do this as a group at the store for anyone interested. You can always just do the afghan 1/2 size or whatever size you want , if full size is just too big of a project for you.
We will be a couple of weeks late starting but will just work along at our own pace, each week for the next 8 weeks, there will be a new pattern for a square, and we will meet to go over the stitch pattern and work on it. Then there will be instructions on a cabled border and putting it all together for the last two weeks, for a total of ten weeks. I have not seen the finished afghan as it is a mystery but I think it will be lots of fun and with lots to learn.
If you are interested please let me know , there is no charge for joining but you are required to buy the yarn from me, buy it one ball at a time or all at once, whatever you like. After you have bought 9 balls you will receive the 10th ball free!!We will be starting Thursday, May the 1st, from 7pm. til 9 pm. and will meet every Thursday evening for the next 10 weeks.
